Anna Nezhnaya

Die 1987 geborene, in Berlin lebende Künstlerin Anna Nezhnaya erforscht verbliebene heilige Orte im heutigen Leben, verschiedene spirituelle Traditionen im Westen und deren Transformationen in den letzten Jahrzehnten. Ihr Hauptaugenmerk liegt auf dem Raum im nicht-didaktischen Sinne. Ihre Arbeit oszilliert zwischen Objektivität und Abstraktion (sowohl manuell als auch digital) und erforscht Identität im Post-Internet-Zeitalter und die fließende Grenze zwischen Realität und virtueller Realität in Gemälden, Lichtobjekten und Zeichnungen.

Born 1987, Berlin-based artist, Anna Nezhnaya explores remaining sacred spaces in contemporary life, diverse spiritual traditions in the West and their transformations during recent decades. Her primary focus is space in a non-didactic sense. Her work oscillates between objectivity and abstraction (both manual and digital) and explores identity in the post Internet age and the slippery divide between reality and virtual reality, in paintings, light objects, drawings.
